ClinicalKey includes:

Over 900 Elsevier medical and surgical textbooks
Dental Clinics of North America
Elsevier First Consult point-of-care clinical monographs
Elsevier Procedures Consult content and associated videos
Over 9,000 medical and surgical videos
Clinical Pharmacology drug monographs
Practice Guidelines
Patient education information
Elsevier medical and dental journals
Links to USC-licensed journals

Search results can be filtered by subcategories, content type, specialty
and by relevant clinical categories such as treatment and diagnosis.
Specialty-specific tools enable clinicians to move quickly from topic
overview to in-depth specialty information.

Users should register and log into ClinicalKey to gain access to
Elsevier-provided PDFs and to take advantage of the database’s
personalization features. A detailed user guide is available for further
information.

Note: Elsevier suggests using Firefox or Google Chrome for best
performance.

Announcement from NLM:

PubMed Health is based on systematic reviews of clinical trials. These clinical effectiveness reviews can show what treatments and prevention methods have been proven to work—and what remains unknown.

PubMed Health provides summaries and full texts of selected systematic reviews in one place. The reviews were generally published or updated from 2003. There is also information for consumers and clinicians based on those reviews.

A search on PubMed Health runs simultaneously in PubMed. A filter is used to identify all the indexed scientific articles at the NLM that might be systematic reviews. This search includes articles from before 2003.

Information partners selected by PubMed Health to contribute their clinical effectiveness information are:

So what are Subject Guides? They are guides that highlight the most used resources for a specific subject. For instance – the Endodontics Guide includes a short list of selected/most used book titles in Endodontics, links to popular E-books, E-journals, RSS feeds to journals, MEDLINE search tips, Images, Associations, and a Chat box if you need to ask an immediate question. (Don’t hesitate to use the chat box – we are logged in during normal business hours.)

So far – we’ve created over 10 guides with many more to come:

Anatomy, Histology, Physiology
Dental Hygiene
Guides on various specialties: Prosthodontics, Pedodontics, Endodontics, Orthodontics, Periodontics
Incoming Students Guide
Evidence-Based Dentistry
Ethics and Professionalism
Images for Dentistry
Mobile Devices

Subject Guides are an on-going project, new guides are on the way and current guides can be modified easily.

New guide announcements will be made via the New Books @ Wilson Dental Library e-mail and through our Facebook page.
